The official languages of Morocco are Arabic and Tamazight “Berber. You will also note French is often spoken as Morocco is a former colony of France. 

A visa is not required when travelling from Canada or the United States as a tourist for up to 90 days. A valid passport is mandatory. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date you expect to leave Morocco.

Morocco is a great vacation for the family with plenty for all ages to enjoy. Take a hot-air balloon ride over Marrakech, explore the Ourika Valley, ride a camel in the Sahara Desert, explore the colourful medina in Fez, and so much more. This moderate Muslim North African country is for all travellers.

There are no compulsory vaccinations required for Morocco, however, we recommend you consult with your local travel clinic for the most up to date recommendations, particularly in regards to malaria prophylactics.

 

The best time to visit Morocco is either in the spring from March to May or in fall between September to October. Other months can also be pleasant if you prefer it very hot and sunny, or don’t mind the cold.

Internet cafes are widely popular in Morocco, making it easy for visitors to access the internet. Internet Café’s generally open early and closes late. Many hotels also offer wireless access, but always be careful to understand all fees and the charges upfront. The internet country code for morocco is .ma.

Safety is why Morocco is a favored destination in North Africa, as crimes committed against tourists are extremely low (and severely punished by Moroccan law). However, you should always check your state department website before traveling to any country.

Tap water is safe to drink; however, bottled water is available and relatively inexpensive (approx $1 for a 750ml bottle). Bottled water is recommended.
